Office of Housing Coordination Services (OHCS)

The Office of Housing Coordination Services (OHCS) was created in 1992, initially to serve as the group charged with the task of coordinating the development of the State of Illinois' Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy (now the State of Illinois Consolidated Plan).

The OHCS-Advisory Committee was created as the state's first affordable housing advisory group. It is a 45-member group from a variety of housing disciplines – private developers, public housing authorities, advocates, etc. who provide consultation to the Authority on the State's Consolidated Plan. See Calendar of Events in this section's Info Center for a schedule of meetings.

OHCS also serves as the housing information clearinghouse for the State of Illinois, and maintains information on federal, state, local, and other housing and related services programs.

Since 2003, OHCS has served as the staff for the Illinois Housing Task Force, and coordinates the development of the state's Annual Comprehensive Housing Plan.
