IHDA helps low- and moderate-income families become first-time homeowners. We fulfill this important mission through a number of initiatives and programs.

  • IHDA finances mortgages to households that may have difficultly qualifying for other conventional mortgage products
  • IHDA provides cash grants to help with down payments and closing costs
  • IHDA finances local homebuyer programs throughout the state that are run by local non-profit organizations and municipalities
  • IHDA finances home repair programs with grants for low-income homeowners who need to bring their homes up to code
